Fans of the popular BBC TV show, Antiques Roadshow, have a rare opportunity to have their collectables valued and hear stories from the interesting world of antiques when small screen star, Eric Knowles holds audience as part of the 2008 Axis Festival in May.
This special event will see Eric giving an illustrated talk about his life in antiques as well as looking at items brought in by members of the audience. Commenting on his return to the City, Eric said: “I’m always delighted to be in The Potteries, it is my own personal Mecca – all roads lead to Stoke for me!
Eric Knowles is now a well-known face in the world of antiques, particularly to viewers of the BBC's 'Antiques Road Show'. He appears to be one of those rare individuals who is able to share his considerable knowledge in a way that is exciting and easy to understand.
He continued: “I’m a staunch supporter of the regeneration of City, and I continue to arrange trips to area for fellow pottery enthusiasts. The event on May 1st will be a great opportunity to meet the people who have lived and worked in the area, and who knows we may unearth some early works from the big manufacturers in the City.”
