Set in Cartagena, Columbia over the late 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century, this romantic drama is the first English language adaptation of the work of Gabriel García Márqitunes uez'. Javier Bardem plays Florentino Ariza, who waits for more than half a century to claim the hand of Fermina Daza, the woman he loves. The film is marks departure for Four Weddings And A Funeral Director Mike Newell.
